Why is the iPhone the device of choice for social media professionals (and addicts)?
This panel of local iPhone developers will discuss the wide range of social media applications available on the platform. From mobile versions of popular services like Facebook to the wide range of Twitter clients to emerging geo-social services like Brightkite and maybe even "fun" services like social radio, you'll get both a solid inventory of the diverse apps you can download and opinions on what makes the best ones shine.
If you're involved in social media and have (or want) an iPhone, this panel is for you.
Time permitting, Q&A to include your favorite apps and insights on developing iPhone applications, as well.
Panelists:
Dan Burcaw is the founder of Double Encore, Inc. a Denver, Colorado based iPhone development organization that marries consulting, product creation, and entrepreneurship -- a Manhattan Project for mobile applications. Burcaw has spent the last decade working with technology and startups. In 1999, he co-founded Terra Soft Solutions, Inc. (acquired by Fixstars) a technology consultancy focused on Linux-based integrated technology solutions. At Terra Soft, Burcaw led the engineering team responsible for delivering solutions to many Fortune 500 enterprises, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy. Before founding Double Encore, Burcaw worked for Apple, Inc. where he saw first hand the power of a strong corporate culture.
Joe Pezzillo is the founder of Metafy LLC, a Boulder, Colorado based software boutique currently developing a suite of prototype iPhone applications for a Fortune 100 financial services company. In addition to pioneering work in internet radio and managing several startups, Joe spent three years as a researcher at the Apple Electronic Media Lab in the mid 90s.
