Mile High Social Media Club teams up with The Cunningham Foundation to fund education for Ethiopian youth
Mile High Social Media Club (MHSMC) is pleased to announce a partnership with The Cunningham Foundation with the goal of sending 2000 children to the Project Mercy school in Yetebon, Ethiopia. Noel and Tammy Cunningham (Noel is the owner of Strings Restaurant in Denver) founded the Cunningham Foundation in 2003 with the mission to help the courageous people in under-developed areas of Ethiopia to help themselves. The Cunninghams, through their foundation and in partnership with other nonprofits, have provided assistance through a variety of projects, including Hope Hearts and Hope Bracelets, Ethiopia Libraries and the 4 Quarters For Kids program.

The MHSMC / Cunningham Foundation partnership will initially focus on Step By Step to Ethiopia," a campaign for Coloradoans to run some portion of the 8,325 miles from Colorado to Ethiopia. Each participant will pledge to walk or run a certain number of miles, and will recruit sponsors who will pledge to pay $10 for each mile the participant completes between November 16th and November 21st, 2009. Leading the campaign is Governor Ritter who will run the first mile on Nov. 16.
Step by Step expands 4 Quarters for Kids program
Step by Step is part of "4 Quarters For Kids. " One dollar is the cost to pay for four key educational needs for one child for one day - one quarter for breakfast, one for lunch, one for uniform and shoes and one for a teacher and books. A key component of the fundraising effort for 4 Quarters in 2009 is Step by Step. Help make it happen by pledging or donating today!
We are proud to support the Cunningham Foundation’s efforts in Ethiopia, and know we can count on members of the Mile High Social Media Club to support this great cause as well. We would love to see MHSMC members participating in the Step By Step to Ethiopia event, either as participants or sponsors.
